The call lasts for 1 hour. The first 30 minutes of the call is focused on new consultants and their questions. (If you'd like to skip that you can join us 30 minutes into the call.)

Transition to Spring/Summer 2011 FAQ

*What do consultants get in their kits if they join in February?

Starter Kits for enrolling consultants will include a full Fall/Winter 2010 tester set and catalogs PLUS the Spring/Summer 2011 transition testers and catalogs.
(March 1st, Starter Kits will contain only Spring/Summer 2011 testers and catalogs for the remainder of the catalog season.)

*What is included in the Tester Transition Set?

All the new and returning fragrances in the new Spring/Summer Catalog. 16 new fragrances, 5 returning fragrances, and 4 previous Scent of the Month fragrances.

*When can I purchase the Tester Transition Set?

February 1st. You can order your choice of either Mini Tester or Party Tester size. (Remember, the Party Testers are now the more convenient slim size.)

*What does the transition set cost during February?

Tester Transition Sets will be available at a 20% discount February 1-28:

•Mini Tester Transition Set – MT-TRANS-SS11: $6.00 ($7.00 CAD)
•Party Tester Transition Set – ST-TRANS-SS11: $20.00 ($24.00 CAD)

*Where do I find the all of the items mentioned above for purchase?

Log into your Scentsy workstation, click on the "Orders" tab then click on the "Scentsy Success Order" button on the left side of your screen. Your can also order any of these items when you place a Scentsy Party order. Just add them by code or name to your order. (It's a good idea to print off a receipt of these purchases for tax reasons.)

*Where can I find the Monthly Promotion Fliers for February?

You can get the Scent and Warmer of the Month flier, 10% Off Sale flier and the new discontinued list by going to your resources tab in your workstation. (Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader "Adobe X" downloaded on your computer, or this won't work.)

Running Credit Cards

Another Update: Square has now dropped the 15 cent charge per swipe. This handy little device is a Scentsy business necessity. (I'm my opinion.)

Update: I found another CC company that offers special rates to Scentsy Consultants. Here is a list of fees she charges for comparison:

On a $100.00 transaction:

Let's say it's a rewards card and you're paying 2.30% = $2.30

Plus our .10% = 10 cents

Plus .15 cents per transaction = 15 cents

Total = $2.55 for the $100.00 charge.

+ ROAMpay will charge $9.95 per month for the ability to be mobile with your swiper.


As a Scentsy Consultant you can run credit cards through your workstation when you are processing an order. Scentsy will process your credit card payments free of charge for you which is a great benefit to your business. (Not all direct sales companies do this.)

If you are doing a fair or show or have customers that want to buy your "on hand" items and pay with a credit card, it can get a little tricky. Fairs and shows in particular usually need a credit card machine. I have never had one because they can be pricey to set up and maintain.

My husband recently found a Smart Phone application called Square. A friend of his in his office building uses this app and says it's great. I've now opened an account with Square and ordered a free credit card swiper that plugs into the ear phone jack on my Smart Phone. I recommend that you check into this company by going to their website squareup.com. You can open a free account and they will send you a free swiper which will make it possible for you to take credit cards without entering an order.

This service is currently only available in the US. (I think we should write in and request that they expand to Canada soon!)

Here is the list of fees they charge:

2.75% + 15¢ for swiped transactions

3.5% + 15¢ for keyed-in transactions

That's it! There are no activation, gateway, monthly, early termination, hidden fees or any additional costs to use Square. Every credit or debit card we accept (Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover) have the same flat rate. These fees are static and do not change depending on how much the transaction was for. As our fees are taken out of each transaction as they occur, there is no fee schedule. Square also does not require a contract upon signup and since we only charge per transaction, it doesn't cost you anything if you don't use it!
